As the Vice President and Chief Operations Officer of ESA, Samantha combines her background in finance with her passion for social impact. Sports were always a part of her life growing up, serving as an outlet for stress and as a motivation for self-improvement. Samantha particularly enjoys running
and playing soccer.
"Someone once told me that at any given point in your life you are between two extremes – better and worse. This means that no matter where you are, things could always be better than they are now or they could always be worse. Recognizing this has allowed be to be fully present in life, and to recognize that I am always fortunate for my position. Throughout my life I have faced hardships and trials, but no matter what, things could always be worse.
This means that I never have an excuse not to help people. I don’t need to be a millionaire or the president in order to make a difference. I just have to be me, and make a difference in any way I can. It is this perspective that has led me to work for ESA. I want to dedicate myself to helping those who have not had the same opportunities I have. I recently came across a quote that reads, “Talent is universal; opportunity is not.” This is the fundamental concept of ESA and why I am passionate about its mission. People do not choose the situations into which they are born, and I want to do everything I can to help provide opportunities to those who may not otherwise have access.”
